Discover the Horses

We work with a variety of horses, each offering a unique personality that assist participants in a wide range of areas.      Learning about the herd dynamic and understanding the roles that horses play within that dynamic teaches us the similarity to human life.  Horses are social creatures who are very sensitive to human emotion and energies.  By learning how to effectively communicate with a horse we in turn learn how to effectively communicate with people.    By learning how to manage our energies and emotions we are better able to navigate the complex worlds around us.  Horses live in the moment and forgive quickly.  With them we are allowed to make mistake, in fact the more we make the more we learn.  Earning the trust of a large animal we learn how we interact in the world around us.  Being willing to see parts we like and those we don't, puts us on a life changing path.  If we can work and communicate with a 1000 lbs animal and earn the trust in the arena...imagine the possibility OUTSIDE the arena

We learn:

  • Communication skills

  • Conflict resolution

  • Adaptability & accountability

  • Teamwork

  • Awareness of self

  • Self care and self love

  • Responsibility

  • Humility

Please note that not all horses at our home ranch are used in program.  We keep lesson and session groups small to offer clients and students focused one on one care and assistance.  Horses are chosen based on personality and their ability to support our learning process.

Meet Scooby-Doo and Velma

These two add so much colour to the ranch.  After losing our sweet Shaggy in January 2020 we have welcomed a new lady into to "Coolsville".  Velma is a Hinny who came to help heal Scooby's heart.  As they are getting to know each other we are excited to add them to the program.  Although we can't "ride" them, our plan is to have them work with students to learn basics of groundwork and trust building.  If there is one thing about a donkey, its that they are VERY different than horses.  We get to practice all we learn with them to help problem solve, adapt and be flexible.  Learning from different areas is the key to deep understanding of self and the world around us.
